Pocono Gets A Little Tricky

It was trying day for Jimmie Johnson and Team Lowe's Racing at Pocono, needless to say. However, Johnson made a great comeback mid-race until a blown right-front tire at Lap 111 ended the day for Team 48.

In 25 starts at Pocono Raceway, Johnson has three wins, 10 top-five finishes and 17 top-10s. He has an average start of 9.1 and an average finish of 8.7. Johnson has led 738 laps and has three pole positions!

While the result may not have been what the Lowe’s Racing team was hoping for at the Brickyard, Johnson was still able to secure a berth in the Chase with his finish.

Most recently, Johnson went to Victory Lane at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in July 2012, recording his fourth career win at the famed 2.5-mile speedway and the eighth for Hendrick Motorsports. If Johnson were to win, he would break his current tie with Jeff Gordon to become the all-time winningest NASCAR driver at Indy.
