Johnson will be leading the field to the green at Martinsville! “We’ve helped ourselves out dramatically today by qualifying on the pole, we’ve got the safest pit stall, and starting with track position is very important,” said Johnson.

Johnson qualified seventh at the re-paved Kansas Speedway. During first practice, he commented, "I feel like I'm in a rocket ship!"

“I don’t think I left anything on the table with that lap,” said Jimmie Johnson, who qualified fifth under the lights at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

"We had a pretty conservative setup in the car," said Johnson regarding his qualifying effort today at Talladega Superspeedway.

Johnson took the No.48 Kobalt Tools Chevrolet out today for a two-lap attempt at taming the Monster Mile, and ending up qualifying 11th for tomorrow's AAA 400 at Dover International Speedway. 

Johnson qualifies 20th for Sunday's Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
