Jimmie Johnson rolled off 30th in today's Pure Michigan 400 at Michigan International Speedway. The starting spot was not ideal, however more bad luck plagued the Lowe's Racing team when Johnson's shifter handle broke early in the race.
Johnson's and Team 48's experience shined as they managed to fix the issue within four pit stops, one of which Johnson tried to continue to fix while driving the No. 48 Lowe's / Jimmie Johnson Foundation Chevy at 200 mph.
Chad Knaus' strategy after the issue played out nicely as Johnson was able to obtain the lucky dog with less than 100 laps to go and battle his way back through the field to a ninth-place finish!
