Jimmie Johnson brought his No. 48 Lowe's Chevy home in the fourth spot in his Duel on Thursday afternoon at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway. Johnson started 11th in the first of the two qualifying races for Sunday's Daytona 500.
After running near the 15th spot for much of the race, crew chief Chad Knaus called for two tires on the only pit stop, allowing Team Lowe's Racing to gain valuable track position. The rest, as they say, is history and Johnson was finally able to earn a solid finish at a restrictor-plate track!
