The No.48 Lowe’s Chevrolet SS took to the track Friday at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway for the first time this season, with two practice sessions for Saturday night’s Sprint Unlimited race. Jimmie Johnson and Chad Knaus opted to make single cars runs instead of participating in any drafting sessions and risking damage to the car.
