Lord of the Lawn

Five. That's how many days are left until Father's Day! If you haven't been keeping up with our 15 Days of Dad, don't fret, there's still plenty of time to find the perfect gift for your dad from Lowe's. Today's theme "Lord of the Lawn", celebrates one of Dad's most prized chores: keeping the yard and landscaping nicer than the neighbors'.

These tips may not win you the "Yard of the Month" award, but they will make your yard the envy of every NASCAR fan on the block. That's right, today we're looking at how to get your lawn ready for the summer stretch of the NASCAR season!

  • Take Care of The Basics - Before we do anything extravagent, let's first make sure your lawn is up to snuff. For starters, make sure you're using your Kobalt 40-Volt Max Cordless String Trimmer and Edger to keep those edges nice and clean, and then use your Kobalt 40-Volt Max Electric Blower to clean things up once you're done. While you're at it, use the Greenworks Electric Pressure Washer to make sure that driveway is looking fresh, too. Okay, now we can move on to the fun stuff...
  • Add a NASCAR Topiary - Surely you've seen the jolly green Jimmie statue featured in the recent Lowe's commercial (BOOM! Confetti!). Why not try your hand at putting one in your own front yard (or a 48 would also be acceptable). Your neighbors are sure to love it!
  • Fly Your Colors - A more...subtle...way for Dad to show off his allegiance is by flying a flag of his favorite team / driver / school. We have the perfect Jimmie Johnson flag for you to fly in the Team Lowe's Racing store.
  • Mow a 48 Into Your Lawn - Another option for the more ambitious fans out there, take this opportunity to mow a fun design into your lawn. We're partial to the number 48 for some reason.
  • Have Some Fun - What good is having a nice lawn if you aren't able to enjoy it? A popular option is to build your own cornhole set and give it a slick Team Lowe's Racing design. If you're looking for somewhere to buy materials from, we know a place.

Kobalt 40-Volt Max 12-in Straight Cordless String Trimmer and Edger

The 40-Volt Max Lithium-Ion battery on this Trimmer and Edger allows for great performance AND run time. It'll cut up to 1.75 miles on one charge and it's dual .065-in auto feed line makes it each to get through thick grass and weeds. Best of all, you don't have to worry about the hassle of gas.

Kobalt 40-Volt Max 250-CFM 140-MPH Light-Duty Cordless Electric Blower

Just like the Trimmer above, the 40-Volt battery on this Blower lets you get started in seconds without having to worry about the hassle of gas. And if you're worried about power...don't. The 140 MPH wind-speed allows you to sweep and gather debris without a problem.
