Jimmie Johnson qualified tenth for Sunday’s Ford EcoBoost 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Johnson, who came into Homestead 20 points out of the lead after bad luck at Phoenix last week, drove his No. 48 Lowe's Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports to a lap of 31.020 seconds at 174.081 mph around the 1.5-mile oval.
Joey Logano captured the Sprint Cup pole at Homestead by turning a lap of 30.672 seconds at 176.056 mph.
Marcos Ambrose will start on the outside of row one after clocking in at 30.797 seconds at 175.342 mph. Brad Keselowski was third, while Carl Edwards and Aric Almirola rounded out the top-five.
